Fills for cooling towers
Fill in the cooling tower is necessary so that the water flowing through it is crushed into small drops, distributed over the entire surface of the walls and cools quickly upon contact with air. Depending on the design, fill can be:
film type fill. They hold water well enough on their surface, distributing it in a very thin layer;
drip type fill. They consist of many tubes, gutters and rails, along which water flows and drips;
film-drop type. They are called hybrid or combined and withstand a load 2 times higher in comparison with drip systems.
